GREENVILLE, ILL. – The Eutectic men's soccer team travelled to Greenville, Ill., on Wednesday night to take on the Greenville University Panthers for their first meeting. In the second half of their senior night game, the NCAA Division 3 Panthers (3-3-1) doubled their score to claim a 4-1 victory over the Eutectics.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Eutectic freshman Leo Harerimana earned his second goal of the season, knocking the ball into the lower right net off a pass from Pietro Martano to start off the scoring and give the Eutectics a 1-0 lead after 27 minutes.
- The Panthers did not allow UHSP a lead for long. Within a minute, GU freshman Carlson Webb scored the first Greenville goal of the night off an assist by Marinez Braulio. It was the first of three goals of the night for Webb, who would score an unassisted goal five minutes before halftime.
- GU's Andres Garcia made it 3-1 in the first five minutes of the second half, hitting the upper right net off an assist from Izan Gonzalez Rivera. Then, Webb struck again to the lower right net in the 54th minute with an assists from Will Malone.
- The Panthers outshot the Eutectics 25-6, with shots on goal at 10-2 and eight corners for GU. UHSP goalkeeper Christian Morales recorded six saves.
