CREVE COEUR, MO – In their first-ever meeting with Waldorf, the Eutectics netted an early second half goal from Leo Harerimana leading UHSP to their first win of the season and a 2-1 triumph over the Warriors.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
UHSP 2, WALDORF 1
- Ahmir Parker opened the scoring with 5:24 left in the half as he scored off a set piece for the visitors. Anthony Olivera was awarded a free kick just onto the Waldorf side of midfield. He lofted a ball into the penalty area that Parker one-timed past UHSP netminder Jack Wolfe.
- Christian Santoyo netted his first of the season with just five seconds left in the first half. Santoyo scored following a rebound off a shot from Pietro Martano that hit the crossbar.
- Leo Harerimana gave UHSP their first lead with his first goal of the season just 4:36 into the second half. Hareriamana dribbled to the left corner of the six-yard box on Warriors keeper Dickson Phoon. As Phoon approached, Harerimana was able to slip the ball five-hold past Phoon and roll it into the cage.
- UHSP was turned aside for the second straight game on a penalty kick. This time is was Owen Rodgers who was stopped 22:31 into the contest as Phoon kept it a scoreless game at the time.
- Christian Morales (1-2) picked up the win in net for the Eutectics needing to make only two saves as he played the second half. Waldorf did put one past Morales, but the goal was disallowed as the play was offsides.
- Jack Wolfe made two saves in net for the Eutectics the first half yielding the lone Warrior goal.
- Dickson Phoon (0-2) allowed the two goals by Waldorf and made five saves.
- Waldorf had one more shot than UHSP 15-14.
NEXT UP:
The Eutectics (1-2) return to the pitch on Wednesday when they host the Brescia Bearcats (0-3) for a 3:00p kickoff. UHSP and Brescia have split their only two previous meetings.
