Three Eutectics named among AMC's best
ST. LOUIS, MO - On Thursday night, the American Midwest Conference held their 2025 Women's Volleyball awards banquet on the eve of the Postseason Conference Tournament. The league unveiled the 2025 AMC Volleyball All-Conference Teams as part of the festivities. UHSP saw setter Jenna Brinson land on the First Team All-Conference list, defensive specialist MaKenzie Uribe earn a spot on the Second Team All-Conference, and Hannah Kynaston receive Honorable Mention honors. Lilly Hollis was awarded a spot on the Champions of Character Team.
Brinson had an incredible final season to cap off her UHSP career. The veteran setter set the all-time UHSP career assist record on October 25 in a match against Mission. A week later, she became the first Eutectic to reach the 3,000 career assist plateau. She currently has 989 assists this year which is second on the all-time Eutectics single season assist list trailing only Kaitlyn LaBoube who reached 1,015 in 2013. Brinson will need 26 in the AMC Tournament to match LaBoube for that mark as it was LaBoube who was the last Eutectic that Brinson needed to pass for career assists. Brinson currently sits second this season in the conference in both assists and assists per set (8.53). Brinson has 280 digs this season (2.41 per set), 31 service aces and 23 total blocks.
For MaKenzie Uribe, she lands a spot on the Second Team All-Conference in her first season with the Eutectics. The junior had anchored the UHSP defense all year currently leading them in digs with 481 (4.29 per set). Those numbers put her third in the conference in both total digs and digs per set. She has a 91.9% serve-receive percentage, 58 assists and 47 service aces on the season. She twice has had five service aces in a match. Uribe piled up a season-high 35 digs on October 22 in a five-set win over against Blackburn.
Sophomore Hannah Kynaston earned AMC Honorable Mention honors for her success at the net. The 6'1" right side/middle led the Eutectic team for kills per set, averaging 2.52 to rank eighth in the AMC. She recorded a career-high 18 kills in the five-set Eutectic victory over Blackburn and hit double digits for kills in six three-set matches this season. Kynaston totalled 229 kills and also pitched in 40 blocks this season.
Hollis was named as UHSP's representative on the 2025 AMC Women's Volleyball Champions of Character Team. The team is comprised of one representative from each school in the conference with individuals selected for best exemplifying the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership. She is a freshman defensive specialist this season for the Eutectics.
Six Eutectics were named to the AMC Academic All-Conference list, requiring a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher: Ava Baggett, Jenna Brinson, Hannah Duggan, Kiley Dyer, Sumanpreet Kaur, and Ella Volkart.
