Eutectic Offense Shines in 8-1 Win over Beavers
ST. LOUIS, MO. – The Eutectic women's soccer team scored a whopping eight goals – the third-most in Eutectic history - on Tuesday night as UHSP hosted the Blackburn College Beavers (0-1) at Saint Louis University High School for a non-conference matchup, winning 8-1. It was the Beavers' first game of the season and the UHSP team's third victory in a row as the Eutectics remain undefeated so far this season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
UHSP 8, BLACKBURN 1
- The Eutectic offense dominated possession for the entire first half, pressuring the Beaver defense with speed and agility along with strategic passing.
- Hannah Tyree opened up the scoring for the Eutectics just 10 minutes into the game off any assist from Alexa Hildebrand.
- Newcomer Lyla Stegmann doubled the UHSP score with a goal around 10 minutes later.
- After a goal by Izzy Rogers at 41:56, assisted by Rylee Mirth, Stegmann capped off the first half with her second goal of the night, assisted by Hildebrand, just a minute before halftime, putting the score at 4-0 the break.
- Hildebrand scored at 62:45 to start off the second half, followed by Stegmann setting up Campbell Slemmer for another Eutectic goal at 69:10 to make it 6-0.
- At 72:44, Hildebrand put in her second goal of the game to give the Euts a 7-0 lead.
- The Beaver offense got a few more shots off in the second half, but only one was on goal: a free kick from 20 yards out. Blackburn's Grace Vidmar lofted the ball over UHSP goalkeeper Susan Bradford to score the team's only goal of the game at 84:26 to prevent the shutout.
- In the final minutes of the game, Rogers found the open net to tally her fifth goal of the season and secure the 8-1 Eutectic victory.
- The Eutectics outshot the Beavers 37-6 as BC's goalkeeper Emma Zaidle made six saves each half.
- Hildebrand and Stegmann finished the game with two goals and two assists apiece for the Eutectics.

After a three-game home series to start the season 3-0, the Eutectics will now take to the road for the next three games. They'll start with a trip to Henderson, Tenn., on Saturday, Sept. 6, to take on former American Midwest Conference member Freed-Hardeman University at 1 p.m.
