Cwiklowski and Hoover Named to All-Conference Lists

Cwiklowski and Hoover Named to All-Conference Lists

On the heels of an historic 20-win season, two Eutectic players have been named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference lists for 2024 men's volleyball. Freshman outside hitter Grant Hoover was named Co-Newcomer of the Year and Second-Team All-Conference. Senior setter Cole Cwiklowski earned All-Conference Honorable Mention status for the second season in his career. It is the first time that UHSP has had two players recognized on the end-of-season All-Conference lists.

Grant Hoover, a native of Cranberry Township, Penn., leads the Conference and ranks second the NAIA for Kills, racking up 378 over 32 matches (107 sets). In addition to his offensive skills, the 6-1 outside hitter also racked up 531 serve receptions, 173 digs, and 63 blocks to rank in the top 15 in Conference for those statistics.

Hoover is the first Eutectic player in history to be named to the All-Conference Second-Team or earn Co-Newcomer of the Year. He shares the Newcomer award with Aleksa Mandic of Missouri Baptist University.

UHSP team captain Cole Cwiklowski made history last spring, earning the Eutectic program's first-ever All-Conference recognition with Honorable Mention honors. After leading his team to its best-ever season, Cwiklowski, a 6-1 setter from Bridgeton, Mo., has repeated that honor in 2024. Cwiklowski leads the entire NAIA in Total Assists, finishing the season with 1,092. His Assists per Set average of 10.30 currently leads the Conference and ranks third in the NAIA.

Both Hoover and Cwiklowski both earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Players of the Week this season. Hoover was named Attacker of the Week and Cwiklowski was Setter of the Week after the team's 3-1 week on the road Mar. 11-17. Cwiklowski then went on to be named NAIA Setter of the Week that week, becoming the first UHSP men's volleyball player in history to receive the national award.

Hoover and Cwiklowski were a major part of the Eutectics' success this spring, helping the UHSP team to its best-ever record of 20 wins and 12 losses. All the team's losses were against teams that were either ranked in the Top-15 in the NAIA or were receiving votes.
