Cwiklowski and Hoover Named Conference POWs
The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HEART) has named Cole Cwiklowski and Grant Hoover as Men's Volleyball Setter and Attacker of the Week for Mar. 11-17. Cwiklowski and Hoover are the first Eutectics in program history to be recognized with the awards. Earlier this season, Xavier Gamayo earned the program's first-ever HEART Defender of the Week award.
The Eutectic men's volleyball team went 3-1 on the road this week, claiming a 3-1 Conference win over Culver-Stockton, then going 2-1 in Tennessee against non-conference opponents Brescia (3-0 W), Campbellsville (3-1 L), and Cumberland (3-1 W).
Grant Hoover received the HEART Attacker of the Week title by racking up 67 kills on the week to average 4.47 Kills per Set. With only 14 total errors on 124 attempts, he averaged .427 for attacking percentage. He also contributed on defense, recording six Blocks, 73 Serve Receptions, and 1.67 Digs per Set over the four matches. Hoover currently leads the NAIA in Kills, collecting 274 so far this season, averaging 3.75 Kills per Set, for which he is ranked 17th.
As Conference Setter of the Week, Cole Cwiklowski racked up 170 Assists over the four matches last week to average 12.14 Assist per Set. He added in three Service Aces and 30 Digs to average 2.14 Digs per Set. Cwiklowski currently ranks third in the NAIA in total Assists so far this season with 755, averaging 10.49 for a fourth-place ranking in Assists per Set.
