Gamayo named Heart of America Player of the Week

It has been quite a start to the season for the Eutectics men's volleyball team. UHSP is off to an unprecedented unbeaten start through their first nine matches. Monday afternoon, freshman Xavier Gamayo was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference's Defender of the Week for the week of Feb. 12-18.

Gamayo helped the Eutectics to a 3-0 week with wins over Ottawa, Central Christian and Kansas Wesleyan. The UHSP libero had 22 of his 41 total digs for the week in the win over Coyotes. He also added an ace and a kill over the three matches.

The Eutectics will face a more formidable opponent in their next contest when they visit Missouri Baptist for a Heart of America conference match on Friday before facing Campbellsville and Fontbonne on Saturday.
