Central Methodist unbeaten in last six after shutting out UHSP

CREVE COEUR – Central Methodist played a ball-control game against UHSP on Tuesday afternoon as the Eagles turned in a 5-0 win over the Eutectics. All five goals came in the first half as CMU extended their unbeaten streak to now six straight games. The Eutectics saw their losing skid reach eight straight.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

CENTRAL METHODIST 5, UHSP 0

  • Koen Schimmel set up the first two Central Methodist goals as Vincent Stegmiller netted his first of the year to open the scoring and Antoine Hurel followed with his second of the season.
  • Robin Vandewalle made it a 3-0 game with his sixth goal of the season.
  • Ilhan Dervisevic scored the final two goals as Jackson Wilbers assisted on both.
  • Central Methodist converted on five of their seven shots on goal in the first half.
  • The Eagles outshot the Euts 37-3 and 13-2 in shots on goal.
  • Wyatt Taylor (0-1) took the loss in the cage for UHSP. Taylor
  • Linus Bersvagg made just his second start in net on the year for CMU. He improved to 2-0 making two saves.
  • This was the third-ever meeting between UHSP and Central Methodist. The Eagles lead the series 3-0.

NEXT UP:

The Eutectics (1-10, 0-0 AMC) will open up conference play on Saturday when they play on the road at Central Baptist (0-4-1, 0-0 AMC). Kickoff is slated for 3:00p in Conway, AR. UHSP will be looking for their first-ever win over the Mustangs.
