Tough second half propels Brescia past Eutectics

CREVE COEUR, MO – A 5-goal second half by Brescia pushed the Bearcats to their first win of the season as they secured a 6-0 shutout win over UHSP on Wednesday. Javi Fernandez Albandrea tallied a pair of goals and an assist as the Cats converted on 33% of their shots on goal in the contest, dropping the Eutectics to 1-3 on the year.

• Javi Fernandez Albandrea collected his first goal of the season, assisted by Xavi Del Monte at the 36:03 mark, putting Brescia up 1-0.
• Brescia University dominated time of possession in the first half tallying 13 shots, eight on goal, compared to the Eutectics' two shots, one on goal.
• Christian Morales collects a strong seven saves in the first half, allowing one goal late.
• The Cats blew it open scoring three times in the first 16 minutes in the second half. Ikar Pertusa Riquelme and Ezekiel Isom scored ten minutes apart and then Fernandez Albandrea notched his second of the game, four minutes after Isom's team-leading third of the season.
• Lucas Santos would score with 21:18 left and then set up Cade McKinney for the final goal of the game.
• For the game, Brescia outshot UHSP 29-3 including 18-1 in shots on goal.
• Pau Gelabert picked up his first win of the season in net for the Bearcats needing to make only one save.
• Christian Morales was under siege the entire 79:29 he played making 11 saves but falling to 1-3 on the year. Wyatt Taylor played the final 10:31 and made one save.
• Brescia improves to 2-1 all-time against the Eutectics.

The Eutectics (1-3) will be back in action on Saturday when they host Blackburn College at Saint Louis University for a 1:00p kickoff. The Eutectics and Beavers split the series 1-1 with matchups in the last two seasons.
