Eutectics End Season with Loss at C-SC in Quarterfinals
CANTON, MO. – The Eutectic women's lacrosse team concluded the 2026 season with a loss to No. 4-seed Culver-Stockton College (6-9, 3-3 HEART), in the quarterfinals of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HEART) tournament. The No. 5-seeded Eutectics led 6-4 at halftime, but the C-SC Wildcats' fruitful third quarter gained them a lead they would not surrender, ultimately defeating the Eutectics 11-8.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- UHSP started off strong, going up 3-2 in the first quarter. Melanie Doub kicked off the scoring with a free position shot two minutes in. Neither team scored for the next 10 minutes, but CSC did sneak in a goal at 2:15 before Michelle Le scored an unassisted goal and Sadi Adams was able to convert on a free position shot with a minute left in the period. C-SC scored one more goal in the final 30 seconds of the quarter.
- The Eutectics continued their offensive attacks in the second quarter with Adams scoring two more unassisted goals and Le netting one at 8:34. The Wildcats would score the final two goals of the half, but the Eutectics still led 6-4 heading into the third quarter.
- Ella Penke notched her first goal of the post-season (unassisted) within the first minute of the second half to put the Euts up 7-4. But, then, the Wildcat offense scored the next four goals in a row to take its first lead of the game at 8-7. Adams scored on a free position shot to tie it at eight with five minutes left in the quarter, but the Wildcats scored two more to regain the lead at 10-8 before the end of the period.
- After two shots by each team in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats found the net for one more goal with 6:10 left in the game to go up 11-8 and hold that score through the final buzzer.
- The Eutectics nabbed 31 ground balls to the Wildcats' 23, but the home team outshot UHSP 33-18, including 11 shots in the third quarter.
- Sadi Adams netted four goals on four shots in the game, adding two ground balls, one draw control, and one caused turnover. Michelle Le finished with two goals, four ground balls, four draw controls, and one caused turnover.
- Starting goalkeeper Brianna Dixon played the first 30 minutes, making six saves on 10 shots and allowing four. Izzy Lash finished the game at net, making six saves on 13 shots and allowing seven goals.
- C-SC goalkeeper Donelle Wagner played the first 50 minutes of the game, making seven saves on 14 shots and giving up seven goals.
WRAP UP:
The Eutectics finished their first season in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with a 3-9 overall record. They finished the regular season ranked fifth of seven teams in the Conference standings. The close loss to Culver-Stockton in the quarterfinals was UHSP's third loss to the Wildcats this season and effectively ends the season for the Eutectics. C-SC will advance to the semi-finals of the tournament to face the No. 1-seeded Benedictine College on April 30.
