Day 2 at WWU Invite washed out; UHSP finishes 6th

FULTON, MO – The William Woods Spring Invitational was cut in half due to weather with teams only able to get in play on Monday as Tuesday featured lightning and thunderstorms in mid-Missouri. The Eutectics finished sixth out of ten teams with a total score of 340. The host club won the tournament with a 318, led by the individual winner Pilar Ariaudo as she carded an even-par 72.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Addison Sullivan was tied for seventh overall with an 8-over 80. Her lone birdie was on the 407-yard, par-5 17th. She opened the day even through three, but bogeyed each of the following three holes and five of the next six. Harper Ready was two strokes behind Sullivan with an 82 and was in a four-way tie for 14th place. Ready birdied the par-5, 462-yard 13th on day one. Ella Penke turned in an 83 (part of a four-way tie for 18th) and followed Ready's birdie on #13 with one of her own on #14 (par-4, 335-yards).
  • Zoe Lopez was nine-over through the first nine and 14-over on the back nine for a total of 95 (+23). She parred the par-4, 314-yard 4th hole.
  • The Eutectics finished ten strokes behind Columbia for fifth place and seven strokes in front of Central Methodist.

UP NEXT:

The Eutectics are back at it on April 13 for their final tune-up before the AMC Championships on April 27. On the 13th, UHSP opens a two-day tournament at Missouri Baptist at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton, IL.
