Bull Notches 10th Double Double on Senior Day

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The Eutectic women's basketball team hosted American Midwest Conference (AMC) top contender, the Columbia College Cougars, on Saturday afternoon for the final game of the regular season. Seniors Arianna Buduan, Da'Naiyah Darnell, Reece Halley, Sara Hameed, Montasia McAllister, and Jessica Perez were recognized prior to the game, as was Halley for her 1,000th career point recorded on Feb. 19th. Aryanna Bull earned her 10th double double of the season to tie the UHSP record held by Sandra Pratt since 2008, scoring 21 points and pulling down 18 rebounds in the Eutectics' 100-75 loss to the Cougars (27-1 (18-0 AMC).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

CC 100, UHSP 75

  • Senior Arianna Buduan opened up the game with a triple off an assist from senior Sara Hameed. The Eutectics held onto the lead for the first five minutes until the Cougars went on a 15-point scoring run to get ahead 22-12. The Eutectics were behind 27-18 after the first quarter.
  • The Cougars more than doubled their score in the second period, shooting at 57.9% to score 29 points to UHSP's 14. Columbia led 56-32 at the half.
  • The Cougars continued in the same vein in the third quarter, building on their lead by outscoring UHSP 28-16 to make it 84-48 heading into the final 10 minutes.
  • The Eutectics had their best quarter to end the night. Senior Reece Halley went 4-for-4 from the arc for 12 points in the period, while Aryanna Bull picked up five rebounds to lead the Eutectics to 27 points in the quarter, while holding the Cougars to 16.
  • As mentioned, Bull led the Euts with 21 points and 18 rebounds. Halley finished with 17 points and five rebounds, while Hameed and Analyssa Maldonado each finished with 12 points. Alina Bowden (8), Buduan (3), and Alise Milenberga (2) also scored for UHSP.
  • Ashtyn Klusmeyer led all scorers with 22 points for Columbia.

UP NEXT:

The Eutectics have now finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-15 and a 10-8 record in the AMC to finish fourth of 10 teams in the Conference standings. As the fourth seed, the Eutectics qualify for the AMC championship tournament held in Springfield, Mo., next week. UHSP will begin their post-season journey with a matchup against #5-Mission University (13-15, 9-9 AMC) on Friday, Feb. 27, at 12:00 p.m.
