Engelage, Hameed, Buduan Named CSC Academic All-District
Three UHSP basketball athletes have been named CSC Academic All-District honorees for 2024-25: Arianna Buduan and Sara Hameed for women's basketball, and Landon Engelage for men's basketball.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for nomination for the Academic All-District award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and compete in 90% or start in at least 66% of the institution's games.
Buduan, Hameed, and Engelage also received the Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award and the American Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference for 2024-25 and 2023-24.
It is Engelage's second CSC Academic All-District award, having also received the honor for the 2023-24 season. He is the only men's basketball player in UHSP history to receive the award.
Buduan and Hameed are receiving the CSC Academic All-District award for the first time. They join alumnae Grace Beyer, Victoria McDougall, and Makenzie Schierding as UHSP women's basketball recipients of the award. Beyer was also a three-time CSC Academic All-America Player of the Year.
