Beyer Earns Seventh AMC Player of the Week Award
For the seventh time so far this season, UHSP's Grace Beyer has been named the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Beyer averaged 32.7 points, seven rebounds, 3.7 assists, and two steals over three AMC road contests, leading the Eutectics to a 2-1 record for the week of Jan. 8-14.
The Eutectics started the week off with a 72-60 victory at Missouri Baptist University, where Beyer dropped in 20 points, while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing off six assists. On Thursday at William Woods University (Mo.), Beyer went 16-for-29 from the floor, scoring a whopping 51 points as the Eutectics brought home a 69-62 win. She finished out the week at Columbia College (Mo.), recording 27 points and seven rebounds as the UHSP team fell 74-45 to the CC Cougars.
Beyer, a two-time first-team All-American, continues to lead the Conference and the NAIA in scoring, averaging 33.7 points per game – more than five points above the next-highest player.
The Eutectics, now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the AMC, will be back in action this Thursday, Jan. 18, with a 5:30 p.m. AMC home matchup against Central Baptist College (Ark.)(3-7, 2-3 AMC).
