Grace Beyer named to AMC All-Tournament Team
UHSP guard Grace Beyer was included in the American Midwest Conference 2023 All-Tournament Team that was announced today.
Beyer led the Eutectics to their second consecutive tournament semifinal appearance after a hard-fought first-round win over 6-Lyon, 72-68. The Eutectics lost in the tournament semifinals to 2-Missouri Baptist 77-45 to see their tournament run come to an end.
The UHSP point-guard scored 35 points and had eight rebounds in the win over the Scots. She would go for 29 points and seven board against the Spartans. Beyer went a combine 20-for-39 from the floor in the two games including 3-of-8 from the three-point line. She was a perfect 21-of-21 from the foul line in the pair of games.
Beyer leads the nation in scoring at 32.3 points-per-game and is the second leading free throw shooter in the country at 93.9%.
The rest of the 2023 AMC All-Tournament team was comprised of Columbia's trio of DeLaney Horstman, Allison Stiers and tournament MVP Mallory Shetley. Cottey's Claudia Hadlock was selected as well as Lyon's Allison Byars. Missouri Baptist put two on the All-Tournament Team: Tionne Taylor and Alexis Allstun. Alayasia Douglas of Stephens, Natalie Thomas of William Woods and Tristan Richards of Williams Baptist were also named to the team.
