Beyer Named to WBCA All-America Team
Grace Beyer (SO/Eagle, Wis.) has been selected by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for the 2022 Coaches' All-America Team for the National Association of Collegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Beyer was among 10 student-athletes named to the team who were selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in the NAIA. With the announcement, she made history yet again as the first Eutectic player ever to receive the award. No other American Midwest Conference (AMC) student-athletes were named to the WBCA All-American Team, while only one AMC player, Mallory Shetley of Columbia College, was among the 20 listed as honorable mentions.
"We congratulate members of the 2022 WBCA NAIA Coaches' All-America team," said WBCA executive director Danielle Donehew. "These young women have worked to elevate their teams and themselves to an elite level of competition. Through their exceptional talents on the basketball court, they have also lifted the women's game."
Beyer led the NAIA with 32.9 points per game and 1,019 total points for the year. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Her 358 free-throws made and 402 free-throws attempted also led the NAIA.
Beyer was named the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Player of the Year. During the regular season, she was twice named the NAIA National Player of the Week and was named the AMC Player of the Week 10 times. On the season, she scored 20 or more points in 30 of 31 games, scored 40 or more points six times, and scored a season-high 57 points in a game.
Also a stellar student, Beyer was named the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Player of the Year.
