ST. LOUIS, MO – Missouri Baptist rolled to a 15-1 win over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday afternoon as the Eutectics celebrated the career of four of their seniors.
The game began with Missouri Baptist striking first just two minutes in, as Ognjen Bozovic found the net with an assist from Emilio Hernandez, setting the tone for a dominant first half. The Spartans continued to press, racking up goals and maintaining control, leading to a halftime score of 7-0. MBU got those seven goals from five different goal scorers as Marko Dordevic and Matthew O'Reilly each scored a pair in the first half.
The second half featured more of the same as Dordevic wasted no time finishing off his hat trick just 4:29 into the half off an assist from O'Reilly. O'Reilly would later record his third of the match in the 62nd minute. Despite the lopsided score, the Eutectics showcased their determination as Jacob Woodard finally put UHSP on the scoreboard in the 57th minute with his team-leading seventh goal of the season.
Missouri Baptist featured constant offense churning out 41 shots to the Eutectics nine. MBU had 25 shots on goal while UHSP had four. Jack Wolfe and Ivan Maldonado each played a half in goal and each made five saves for the home club.
Despite the defeat, UHSP's celebrated the commitment from their seniors Jacob Woodard, Grant Woodard, Ty Medlock, and William Brinker. There is no denying the impact these seniors have had on the Eutectics.
The Eutectics (1-14, 1-7 AMC) will be the 8-seed in the American Midwest Conference Tournament that sees them play at 1-William Woods (10-2-6, 6-0-2 AMC) on Wednesday at 6:00pm. The Owls beat UHSP in the regular season 6-0 on October 26.
