Late rally not enough as Eutectics fall to Hornets

Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy made the short jaunt to Harris-Stowe in search of their first ever win against the Hornets. It would not come on this day as Harris-Stowe held off a late charge from UHSP and pulled out a 4-2 win.

It was an incredible start to the game by Harris-Stowe's Jose Uribe as he needed only 14:33 to record a hat-trick in the game building a 3-0 lead for the home club. Just after the halftime break, Grant Woodard got the Purple and Gold on the board with a goal off a pass from Jacob Woodard to make it a 3-1 game at the 51-minute mark. With 11 minutes left in the game, Jacob Woodard this time would play the role of goal-scorer as William Brinker recorded the assist as the Eutectics made it a one-goal game. Much like their previous game against Fontbonne, it was another furious effort late by UHSP to try and get the game tied. But Slayde Stokes capped the scoring with a goal just before the final whistle for a 4-2 Hornets win.

Harris-Stowe outshot UHSP 17-4 with UHSP keeper Jack Wolfe making seven saves. The Hornets are now 9-0 all-time against UHSP. The Eutectics (3-9-2, 0-4-1) wrap up the regular season this week with two more AMC games. The Eutectics host Hannibal-LaGrange for a Tuesday morning contest at 11a before making a road trip to Columbia on Saturday.
