Six Earn All-Conference Recognition
The Heart of America Rugby Conference (HOA) has recognized six individual players from the Eutectic men's rugby team with HOA South All-Conference honors for the Fall 2025 season.
UHSP captain Hunter Clark (Flanker) and freshman Keola Piena (Flyhalf) were among the 15 individual players to be recognized as All-Conference from across 12 teams.
Clark, who was named Division 1AA National Player of the Week in October, was one of two Flankers on the list. He was also selected to represent the HOA Conference on the "Love Squad," which will face off against a formidable Florida Selects Team in early December.
Piena made an immediate impact as a Flyhalf on the Eutectic team this fall. He was the only Flyhalf named to the 15-player All-Conference team.
Four Eutectic players were ranked on the All-Conference list of eight Honorable Mentions. Kristofer St. Clair was recognized in his first season playing rugby. Freshmen Tiki Thompson and Jack Sipniewski made the list, as well as the UHSP scrum-half Dylan George.
In its historic inaugural season of 15s competition, the UHSP team made its mark on the Conference, which includes 10 schools that compete at the NCAA Division I level in other sports. The Eutectics, who were viewed as the newcomer-underdogs, surprised the Conference with victories over Oklahoma State and Kansas State universities to finish 2-4 in Conference play.
Head Coach Peter Lang was proud to see his team recognized in its first season and with the challenges that brought.
"Congratulations to the boys selected," said Lang. "And those not selected should be equally proud of what we have achieved so far and what we are building. There were a lot of First Firsts this season and with recruitment looking strong for next year, it is exciting to see this program take off strongly."
This spring, the UHSP men's rugby team will compete in 7s competition, highlighted by the annual Prescription 7s Tournament hosted by the Eutectics in Forest Park on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
