Eutectic Men Finish 10th at Eagle Knoll Open
HARTSBURG, MO. – The Eutectic men's golf team travelled to Hartsburg, Mo., on Monday to take part in the second fall tournament hosted by William Woods University: the Eagle Knoll Open. The UHSP team finished 10th of 14 teams competing in the two-day event with a team total at +78 for the two rounds. Brett Bushue tied for 28th place (of 78) to lead the Eutectic squad.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- After shooting an 81 on Monday, Brett Bushue returned on Day 2 to birdie three holes and go one-under par on the back nine to shoot a 75 for the day. That Day 2 performance moved him up the leaderboard by eight positions from Day 1, as he finished with a score of +12 for the two rounds.
- The second Eutectic on the leaderboard was Will Turner, who finished tied for 35th place with a score of +15 for the two-rounds, shooting a 79 and 80 for the two days.
- Connor Kosola moved up 12 spots on Day 2, following up his 88 on Monday with a 77 on Tuesday, including three birdies, to finish tied for 46th.
- Cooper Thomas was the final Eutectic included in the team scoring, finishing tied for 60th at +37.
- Gavin Barbee and Gunner Mahurin also competed for the Eutectics.
- The Eutectic team finished 14 strokes behind Conference foe Hannibal-LaGrange (tied for eighth with Lincoln University), beating out State Fair CC, Central Methodist (B), LeMoyne-Owen, and Hannibal-LaGrange (B). Missouri Baptist and host William Woods tied for first, both posting scores of +15.

The Eagle Knoll Open was the last competition on the fall schedule for the Eutectic squad. They will return to action this spring with the season culminating at the American Midwest Conference tournament in April.
