Eutectics Make History at Arch City Cup

ST. LOUIS, MO. – The Eutectic cheer team hosted the 2026 Arch City Cup, the program's first-ever home competition, on Friday in the UHSP gymnasium. The UHSP team made history by recording the program's highest-ever score and first-ever first-place finish in a competition.

The competition was divided into two rounds, with the Eutectics competing against Columbia College (Mo.) and Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) in Round 2. The UHSP squad scored a 76.18 in the competition – more than 16 points better than their first competition of the season and the highest score in Eutectic cheer history. The score was enough to beat out the other Round 2 teams, Columbia College (72.33) and Culver-Stockton College (69.52), and take home the blue ribbon.

Five NAIA schools competed in Round 1, with Indiana Wesleyan University (87.63) narrowly edging out Taylor University (86.30) to win the round.

Head Cheer Coach Brianna Wash was thrilled with her team's performance and first-place finish.

"I am so incredibly proud of the hard work the team has put in these past two weeks to improve their scores," Wash said. "We raised every execution and difficulty score and their performance showed it! This team was fired up and ready to perform for our home crowd!"

Fresh off their first-place finish, the Eutectics will head to Columbia, Mo., on Saturday to compete at the Cougar Classic hosted by Columbia College.
