Eutectics Return to Battle at the Big Easy

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – For the second year in a row, the Eutectic Cheer Team travelled to New Orleans, La., for the Battle at the Big Easy Championship. The cheer and dance competition was hosted by Xavier University – New Orleans (XULA) on Thursday and Friday with seven cheer teams competing. The Eutectics scored 59.75 on Day 1 - their highest overall score since 2023.

On Thursday, the Eutectics competed in Matchup 1, including Loyola, St. Xavier, OLLU, TAMU, and UHSP. The Eutectics scored a 59.75 to finish in fifth in the grouping. The score was nearly six points higher than UHSP's best score at the event last season. The Eutectics were just 3.13 points behind the fourth-place St. Xavier team. Loyola won the five-team matchup with a score of 81.45.

In their second matchup at the event on Friday, the Eutectics scored a 59.55. While the team did not hit a clean routine, they increased their execution score from Day 1 to Day 2.

NEXT UP:

On February 20, the Eutectics will host the first-ever home cheer competition in program history. The event, called the Arch City Cup, will take place all day in the UHSP competition gymnasium. The following day, the Purple and Gold will travel to Columbia, Mo., to compete in the Cougar Classic hosted by Columbia College.
