On November 6, 2009, the Eutectic women’s cross country team defeated five other teams competing in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) championships in Nashville, Tenn., to become the conference champions. With the KIAC title, the team became the first Eutectic athletic program in NAIA history to win a conference championship and qualify for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) championships.

The team travelled to Vancouver, Wash., to compete at the NAIA Cross Country Championships on Nov 21, 2009 where they finished in 32nd place.

Head Coach David Baker was named the 2009-10 KIAC Coach of the Year for women's cross country. He is the first and only Eutectic coach in NAIA history to receive conference Coach of the Year honors.

Three individual runners from the Eutectic team were named All-Conference for their finishes at the KIAC championships: Megan Rogers, Rachel Maedeker, and Kelsey Jett. Rogers and Maedeker, along with Melissa Webelhuth all qualified for nationals as individuals and earned All-Conference honors in other seasons.

Megan Rogers and Rachel Maedeker continue to hold rankings in the All-Time Eutectics Top-10 5K times.

Karen Obermann, Lindsey Vandersteen, and Melissa Webelhuth were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2009 season. All three earned the award for multiple seasons.
