Jeremiah McWilliams

Men’s Basketball, Cross Country 1997-2001

Eutectics Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Jeremiah McWilliams made an immediate impact on the 1997-98 Eutectic men’s basketball team as a freshman and former high school standout shooting guard from West Plains, Mo. His tenure on the Eutectic team preceded the program’s conference membership, but he was able to make his mark at both the regional and national level, as well as set records for the Eutectic program during his collegiate career.

A consistent threat from the perimeter, Jeremiah led the NAIA Division II Midwest Region in 3-Pt. Field Goal Percentage for the 1998-99 season at 43.27%, helping the STLCOP team finish at 17-7 – the best record in program history. Jeremiah also excelled on defense, earning NAIA Division II All-American Honorable Mention and All-American Farm Basketball First-Team honors as a junior for his well-rounded game. As captain of the team his senior season, Jeremiah averaged 24.3 points and 11.2 rebounds per game, receiving an NAIA Division II Basketball Independent Player of the Week nod along the way, and notching two 39-point/14-rebound games. He completed the 2000-01 season ranked fifth in the NAIA for Total Rebounds (279) and seventh for Points per Game (24.3).

Jeremiah joined the elite Eutectic 1,000-Point Club as a junior, and by the end of his four-year career had tallied 1,653 total points. 23 years since his final season, he ranks third in Eutectic history for Career Scoring, despite a marked increase in total games per season for the Eutectic schedule in recent years. At the time of his induction, he continues to hold school records in five statistical categories including Career Field Goals Made (224), and Single-Season 3-Pt. Field Goals Made (85), Rebounds (279) and Rebounds per Game (11.2).

After exhausting his four years of collegiate basketball eligibility in the NAIA, Jeremiah joined the inaugural Eutectic men's cross country team in the fall of 2001 for what would be his fifth season of STLCOP athletics. Despite having little racing experience, the basketball star was the number-four runner for the varsity cross country team and played an integral part in the expansion of the Eutectics Athletics program offerings.
